Sure, it's 2017, but if you miss the noncurrent days of iGoogle personalized homepages, in that respect are a few Chromium-plate extensions that can provide something similar connected your new tab Thomas Nelson Page. One of them is called "Start – A Better New Tablet" from 64 Pixels.
This annex includes all kinds of information on your unused tab Page in the form of widgets. They include the underway weather, crest visited sites (as you see in the regular new tab page), top news stories from CNN or Google, Gmail, Facebook, fashionable videos on YouTube, your installed Chrome Apps, a notepad, Google Calendar, bookmarks, stocks, a to-do list, and the current time. All but widgets are reactive by default.

That's a whole good deal of information packed into one spotlight. The features aren't as customizable as I'd ilk, just if this sounds like an extension that would work for you instal information technology from the Chrome Web Store (link above).
Once it's installed, there International Relations and Security Network't much you have to do. It sets itself up quite effectively. Oddly, it was able to pull in my Gmail information automatically—mayhap because I was signed in—but not my Google Calendar, which I had to pass.
I also haven't bothered to sign into Facebook yet, Eastern Samoa I'm trying to keep that wormhole of time and attention off my work Microcomputer. That's a narration for another day, even so.
If you'd like to change anything, go into chrome://extensions in the cover bar and hit Enter. Then roll down the lean until you find Start's listing. Click theOptions link and a new tab will open with all the various settings you can shift.

You can rearrange widgets by dragging and dropping the tiles therein section. You can also change the transparentness of the widgets, change the weather units, and stool few other adjustments. Information technology's all reasonably obvious, fair-and-square don't forget to click Relieve at the bottom when you're done.
